Biophysics Austria serves as a communication and networking platform for the Austrian Biophysical Community. Methods used by our members include electrophysiology, FRET, single molecule spectroscopy, AFM, SAXS, SANS, molecular biology, MD simulations, membrane biophysics.

Biophysics Austria is a non-profit making scientific society with the aim to encourage development and dissemination of knowledge in biophysics. The society, founded in 1961, provides a platform for all academia and industry related to the study of biological phenomena at the molecular level in all life forms using approaches that interface mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, pharmacology and medicine.The society provides information assisting recruitment of personnel and offers industry to act as sponsors.

Biophysics Austria is affiliated with the European Biophysical Societies‘ Association (EBSA).
